A reminder that today, Tuesday, 5/21/13, is a minimum day at Aldar Academy. Please be prepared to receive your child earlier than normal due to the 1:10PM release time.
Aldar Academy was established in 1975 as a private, non-profit, non-public school. We specialize in meeting the needs of handicapped students with severe learning, emotional and /behavioral problems. Aldar Academy provides individualized services as identified in the IEP (Individual Educational Program). Aldar Academy serves the needs of students ages 4-22, grades K-12. Aldar is certified by the California State Department of Education and is a WASC Accredited school which enables us to graduate students with a traditional High School Diploma.
In December 2003, 2008, 2009, and our recent 2010 four year recertification, Aldar Academy received high commendations from the California State Department of Education and is considered to be one of the best Non-Public Schools (NPS) in Northern California.
"We are motivated by our principles to make these commitments to our
students: We will create a safe environment that enables students to
develop a positive self-image, take personal responsibility,
grow academically, and equip them with the tools to make
successful transitions."
Aldar Academy will enroll students of any race, color, creed, sex, national origin, and disability. Aldar Academy is certified to serve students from four through twenty-two years of age.
The Aldar Academy 2012-2013 school year calendar has been finalized. Please click on the link below to view the calendar.
Please remember to have your child attend school each day. The Calfornia Department of Education states, "education law requires everyone between the ages of six and eighteen years of age to attend school, except sixteen and seventeen year-olds who have graduated from high school or passed the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE) and obtained parental permission to leave". If your child reaches a specific number of absences it necessitates that Aldar Academy notify the district which begins the SARB (www.cde.ca.gov/ls/ai/sb/) process. This process can affect income coming into the home (from state agencies) and involve many outside agencies (including law enforcement) per the California Department of Education, "the goal of SARBs is to keep students in school and provide them with a meaningful educational experience, SARBs do have the power, when necessary, to refer students and their parents or guardians to court".
