Coast Guard AIM Summer Program

Since the 1950s, approximately 14,700 high school students have discovered the United States Coast Guard Academy by attending the Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) program. Exclusively for students preparing to enter their senior year of high school, AIM is now widely regarded as the most realistic service academy summer orientation program in the country.

2017 Session Dates (Sunday through Friday) 

I: 9–14 July      II: 16-21 July       III: 23-28 July

April 1: AIM application closes

Sac State Future Hornets Day - Oct 8th

Future Hornet Day is designed especially for prospective undergraduates and their families. You can tour the campus, meet with many of our dedicated faculty, and attend information sessions on admissions, housing, financial aid, and more.  Meet and mingle with some of Sac State's finest throughout the day - students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends.

 

Check-in starts at 12 noon and festivities run from 1 – 4pm

Outside in the Bookstore Plaza, between the Bookstore and the University Union.

Sac City Preview Day - Oct 15th

Sacramento City College would like to invite students, families, faculty, staff and administrators to help them celebrate 100 years! On Saturday, October 15th Sacramento City College will be hosting Preview Day and an Open House from 10am to 4pm. Preview Day will feature informational workshops for high schools students and their families while our Open House will give them the opportunity to engage with departments and resources SCC has to offer. It will also include department demonstrations, student clubs, sports clinic, a health fair, food trucks, free tickets to the homecoming football game that evening and much more!!!

Coast Guard Academy Admissions Workshop

The Coast Guard Academy Admission Workshop will be held on Saturday, September 24at 9 AM at Coast Guard Island,  Alameda, California, close to San Francisco.  This Admissions Workshop is a comprehensive presentation for students interested in attending the Coast Guard Academy or learning more about all Coast Guard college and career opportunities.

 

Free parking is available at Coast Guard Island.  Bring a valid drivers license, and proof of vehicle insurance and registration for access at  the main gate.

Special Needs Students Pictures W/Santa

“Caring Santa” is coming to the Stanford Shopping Center Nov. 22 and Dec. 6.  Children with special needs and their families can participate in the time-honored tradition of taking a photo with Santa, but in private sensory-friendly setting before the mall opens to the public. Malls will make necessary adjustments to the environment to support the sensory, physical and other developmental needs of children of all abilities for this special event.     **The Stanford Shopping Center will host Caring Santa on Nov. 22 and Dec. 6 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m.

Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project

Applications for the 2016 Annual Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Conference are now available.  Asian and Pacific Islander American juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply for this unique and very special educational program that will enhance and encourage their leadership skills and potential.


Fifty juniors and seniors will be selected for the three and half day leadership conference on March 17 -20, 2016, at the State Capitol in Sacramento.  Through its fundraising efforts and sponsorships, the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project pays for all costs for travel, lodging, meals, and conference materials for all student participants.
