Valentine's Day Cards for Kids


Remember Valentine’s Day when you were a kid? You couldn’t wait to get to school to see all the Valentine’s Day cards you’d get! You can help kids in area hospitals who will miss the traditional classroom parties have that same awesome feeling with Tanner’s Valentine’s Day Cards for Kids.
 
Star 106.5 is calling on schools, offices, organizations, neighborhoods, friends, and families to come together and create Valentine’s Day cards that will then be hand delivered by Tanner to area hospitals for kids needing a smile.
 
Aldar Academy is participating in this event. If you are interested in participating, send your Valentines to Aldar Academy by Friday, February 7th at 2:30pm! You can mail them or drop them off in person at 4436 Engle Road Sacramento, Ca 95821 or hand them to your child's driver and we will deliver them in time to participate in this wonderful event.

Steps to College 2014 - February 1st

Steps to College is a university fair in Northern California; created to provide a one-stop educational exhibit for high school students seeking to earn a higher education degree. The fair features information and on-site guidance as well as financial assistance opportunities - all in a bilingual setting for members of the whole family.  It will be held on Saturday, February 1st at:

 Fall 2013 Sacramento FBI Teen Academy Application Now Open

The Fall 2013 Sacramento FBI Teen Academy will welcome high school juniors to Sacramento FBI headquarters on Friday, November 22, 2013, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Punctuality, professional behavior, and appropriate dress will be required of all students attending this program.

The application and supporting essay must be received at the following address by 4 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 for panel review. Incomplete and late applications will not be accepted.

EGUSD Community Budget Meetings

The Elk Grove Unified School District will hold seven Community Budget Meetings with EGUSD Board members at seven locations from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013

To ensure that all students have the opportunity to reach their greatest potential, the Board of Education’s Community Budget Meetings are intended to engage the public in a transparent and collaborative process.

The objectives of these meetings are to:

•      Seek input for the Board’s funding priorities;

•      Engage the public in the budget development process; and

•      Introduce California’s new Local Control Funding Formula and Accountability Plan.

Each board member will host a meeting at a separate school site. The meeting will include a presentation about the district’s budget as well as time for questions and answers. The public is invited to attend any one of the meetings.
