Prom Night 2014

We are preparing for "An Evening of Dreams" Prom night which will be located at the following address:

Time: 6-9pm

Evening of Dreams is a red carpet event for teens and young adults complete with photographers, dinner and dancing. The goal is to create a prom experience for our students while allowing them to partake in formal pictures, music, and refreshments. Our guests enjoy an escort throughout the evening.

UC Davis Veterinary Future Day - April 1

The UC Davis Veterinary Sudent Outreach Club will host Future Day for high school students. The purpose of this free event is to promote higher education, demonstrate career possibilities and expose students to science specific veterinary medicine. See website attached to register.

Kaiser Permanente Summer Youth Employmen

Kaiser Permanente in South Sacramento is seeking qualified high school students between the ages of 15 and 20 for our L.A.U.N.C.H.* High School Summer Youth Employment Program. This is a paid internship, in which students will receive minimum wage.

The South Sacramento facility has space for 10 students who will work full time (8 hours/day, 5 days/week) from Monday, June 16, 2014 to Friday, August 08, 2014 and who will participate in a 4-hour weekly educational session as part of the employment experience.

Applications must be received at Human Resources Suite located on theGround Floor of 6600 Bruceville Road, Sacramento, CA 95823no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014. Additionally, each applicant is required to apply online for the position from March 26, 2014 to March 28, 2014 for consideration.  Instructions on how to create a profile and apply online are on page 16 and 17 of the packet.

CRC Assessment Testing - March 19th

Attention Seniors!  If you are planning to attend CRC in the Fall or Summer be sure to check with Cosumnes River College  to sign up for Assessment testing.   The testing will be on Wednesday, March 19th. Any student taking the test should bring proof of testing to the Aldar Academy front office..   

You must have completed your CRC application, the Online Orientation and have your CRC ID number in order to sign up for testing.

Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project

Sacramento Leadership Conference July 19-July 26 is open to all 10th and 11th grade students.  Students participate in workshops and seminars that will enhance leadership skills, academic preparedness, self-esteem, and provide an understanding of state and local government.  Travel, housing, and meals are provided.

Requirements include:  3 essay questions, 2 letters of recommendation, resume of extracurricular activities, school transcript, and a complete online application.

US Naval Summer Seminar

Junior's interested in learning more about the United States Naval Academy this summer...The USNA Summer Seminar offers opportunity for high school seniors to visit the Academy for 1 week during the summer.  Students experience all aspects of the Naval Academy including the academic program and midshipman life.  Students also receive an overview of Navy & Marine Corps service options.  If you're interested in pursuing an appointment to one of the nation’s service academies & serving your country as an officer, you should consider attending the Naval Academy’s Summer Seminar.  Application process opens Thursday, January 16th.  Apply early if you are interested… go to www.usna.edu/admissions/nass
